RESIDENTS of Henley are being offered the chance to find out how well insulated their homes are.
The Henley in Transition group, which is campaigning to reduce the town’s carbon use, is offering to take thermal images of properties at night showing their heat loss.
It is hoped that if a householder then sees how bad their home is, they will be persuaded to have it better insulated.
Group chairman Malcolm Dodds said: "This is a first step in a three-stage plan designed to help as many residents as possible raise the standard of insulation in their homes. Irrespective of your views on global warming and the contribution we are making with our carbon emissions, we are all seeing huge rises in energy costs and the expectation of ever greater increases.
If you’d like a thermal image of your house, register at www.henleyintransition.org.uk/infrared or write, with your name, address and contact details, to: Infrared, c/o Dragon Court, 15 Station Road, Henley, RG9 1AT.
