ACTOR and singer Will Young comes to Oxford later this year in a new production of Cabaret as part of a national tour.
Young, who rose to fame after winning the first ever series of Pop Idol in 2002, plays Emcee alongside the sassy cabaret singer Sally Bowles, made infamous by Liza Minnelli in the Hollywood movie.
Since its Broadway premiere in 1966 Cabaret has won many stage and screen awards, including eight Oscars and 13 Tonys. The musical tells the story of Weimar Berlin in 1931, as events are hotting up for war, and the nightclub scene which was a haven of decadence.
This production, which runs from August to December, is directed by Rufus Norris and choreographed by Javier De Frutos.
