Vet turns detective

ACTOR Christopher Timothy, best known for his part in TV classic All Creatures Great and Small takes the lead as a detective in a gripping thriller at the Oxford Playhouse next week.

Frederick Knott’s Dial M For Murder is the story of Tony Wendice who, convinced his wife is having an affair and motivated by resentment, jealously and greed, plots the perfect murder.

But no-one, let alone Tony, could have predicted the way in which the plan subsequently goes awry.

Famously directed on screen by Alfred Hitchcock, this claustrophobic production reclaims the erotic tale of betrayal, passion and ultimately, murder.

Director Lucy Bailey has worked for many of the country’s leading theatre and opera companies, including the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Recent directing credits include a critically acclaimed production of The Winter’s Tale for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
