FOLK duo Megson make a stop-off at Nettlebed on Monday as part of their national tour.
The husband-and-wife team first started making music together 10 years ago and released their first album On The Side in 2004 on their own label.
They were not expecting much, but after appearing on Bob Harris’ BBC Radio 2 show they gained a reputation among folk-lovers and three years later they went professional.
Their third album, Take Yourself A Wife, inspired by their Teesside heritage, established them firmly on the folk scene.
The pair are Stu Hanna on vocals, octave mandola, banjo and guitar and Debbie Hanna on accordion and whistle. They have played at the Cambridge Folk Festival and Larmer Tree Festival, as well as clubs all over the UK.
In 2011 Hannah gave birth to their baby girl but they are back on the road now, and will release their new studio album, In A Box, this year.
Megson play at the Nettlebed Club on Monday, June 2. For tickets call 01628 636620 or visit www. nettlebedfolkclub.co.uk
