IF you missed HAODS’ recent production of The Full Monty (or if you saw it and want to see more, so to speak) the show is coming to the Wycombe Swan next spring with a cast of celebrity strippers, writes Lesley Potter.
In 1997, a British film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose, took the world by storm becoming one of the most successful British films ever made. Now, the boys are back, only this time, they really have to go the full monty….live on stage.
Gary Lucy of EastEnders fame, and winner of Dancing on Ice will play the lead role of Gaz.
Andrew Dunn, best known as Tony in Dinnerladies is Gerald and Louis Emerick who plays PC Walsh in Last of the Summer Wine is Horse.
Other cast members signed so far include Martin Miller, Bobby Schofield and Rupert Hill.
The production also features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
The Full Monty is written buy Simon Beaufoy, his first work for the theatre. His screen credits include winning the BAFTA for The Full Monty, as well as Salmon Fishing in Yemen and Slumdog Millionaire.
The Full Monty will run at the Wycombe Swan from Monday to Saturday, April 6 to 11, 2015.
