Town Centre Manager releases single
Published 19/06/14

THREE ukulele players who claim to be the “worst boy band in the world” have released their debut single to coincide with the World Cup.

No Direction HoT Boys have written Go Bosnia (and Herzegovina) because they thought the country needed a theme tune for the competition.

Singer Mike Holland says: “I have been to Bosnia and they are very passionate about their football there. The idea for the song came to me while watching the build-up to the World Cup and I wondered if Bosnia had ever had a World Cup anthem.”

The trio (average age 53) are completed by Henley town centre manager Peter McConnell and Martyn Cooper, who wrote the music for the song. Martyn says: “Mike came to us with the lyrics and a shouty tune. This pleased Peter who likes shouting but by changing the rhythm to a Brazilian samba beat and having proper musicians join us at the recording we managed to make it sound much better.”

The single is available on iTunes. Bosnia lost 2-1 to Argentina in their opening fixture on Sunday.
