ARE you one of the millions of people suffering from back pain in the UK today? The Henley Chiropractic Centre can help you put this experience behind you.
Back pain affects a large portion of the population. Most cases are not suitable for surgery but do not respond to ongoing pain medication treatment either.
In 2009 the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) concluded that chiropractic care should be recommended by the NHS. It was also one of the official therapies available to the athletes during the 2012 Olympic Games.
Stefan Nilsson and Jorgen Rasmussen, chiropractors at the Henley Chiropractic Centre, explain: “Back pain affects a large proportion of the population and can have a massive impact on that individual’s quality of life. Suffering with back pain will influence everything you do and everybody you know, especially now during the summer when most of us are more active.
“We don’t want anybody to have to give up their passion, whether that is gardening or sports such as cycling, golf or tennis. Most of the time you should be able to carry on whilst receiving appropriate care and advice.
“The sooner the person comes to see us with his or her health challenge, the smaller the impact will be on their quality of life. Unfortunately, the longer the symptoms persist the harder it becomes to cope with.
“We think we are in a great position to help this group of people. With a very motivated team, we have a purpose-built building for chiropractic care. We can accept any severity of back problem in any age group.
“We work closely with local GP surgeries but patients more often call us directly for our advice. Our hands-on approach tailored with individual home care programmes is something we see work time and time again.
“Today’s patient expects his or her care to be convenient for them at the same time they are getting results with their care. At the same time painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication can be useful in certain circumstances — our patients are looking to address the cause of their back pain rather then just masking their symptoms.
“We therefore spend more time with our patients when they first join our practice. That way we can accurately determine not only why the patient is struggling with symptoms, but also how we can best remedy the situation.”
