CHILDREN are invited once again to enter a competition to design the Mayor’s official Christmas card.
Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak will be out visiting all the primary schools in Henley to explain how to take part in the annual competition which is supported by the Henley Standard. However the competition is open to all Standard readers.
This year the theme is “Family Christmas in Henley” — and pets can be included.
The winning design will be printed and sent out as the Mayor’s official Christmas card as well as being printed in the Henley Standard. All the entries will be displayed at the town hall.
The judges will be the Mayor, the chairman of the town council’s Christmas decorations sub-committee and Henley Standard editor Simon Bradshaw.
Cllr Gawrysiak said: “Christmas is important to me as a family and I have got two pet cats and that’s why I included pets as well. A lot of people love their animals all the year around and Christmas is a special time for people to have a pause and rest and enjoy it.”
The creator of the winning design will be presented with a certificate and invited to turn on the Christmas tree lights with the Mayor at the Christmas Festival and late-night shopping event on Friday, December 6. They will also win a family ticket for four to see Cinderella, starring Shane Ritchie, at the Wycombe Swan.
