THE Old Station Nursery has now been operating the nursery — which was formerly known as Orchard Farm Day Nursery — for a year this January.
The company took over the running of the lovely rural setting at the start of 2012 and has been very busy since then. A new preschool room opened at Easter, to prepare three- and four-year-olds for the transition into primary school, shortly followed by a fantastic forest school over the summer.
The forest school allows children of all ages to make the most of learning and exploring in a large woodland area, with regular sessions for children aged from two upwards with a qualified forest school leader.
The nursery team has also opened a holiday club for four- to 11-year-olds, which includes lots of outdoor play in the forest school, throughout all the school holidays.
The nursery was graded “good” in all areas in June and under the leadership of nursery manager, Julie Crake, the team are continually looking at ways to improve the experience for all the children who attend.
If you haven’t visited the nursery on Fair Mile before, visitors are very welcome. Free sessions are available for children aged two, three and four, so just ask for more information. Visit www. theoldstationnursery.co.uk
