Summer camps offer top rowing tuition
Published 16/06/14

THIS summer, Shiplake College is offering specialist rowing training camps for boys and girls aged 13 to 18.

Based at the College’s Boat House, ideally situated on a beautiful stretch of the River Thames, the school holiday training camps offer expert coaching and tuition for all beginner and intermediate rowers.

Shiplake College provides excellent facilities and highly qualified coaches, whose comprehensive tuition will ensure that participants are able to develop their skills and technique throughout the week.

Two week-long camps are available, on weeks commencing Monday, July 28, and Monday, August 4. Sessions run daily from 10am to 4pm, culminating in a mini-regatta on the Friday.

The races are always great fun and provide a fantastic opportunity for the rowers to show off the progress they have made across the week. The camps are priced at just 225 per week, representing great value for access to such high quality facilities and coaching.

The camps attract interest from a range of schools and rowing clubs in the local area. Places are limited so it is advised to book as soon as possible. Further information and application forms can be found on the Shiplake College website at www.shiplake.org.uk/rowing camps.

ST Mary’s School is a fully co-educational day school, catering for children from the term they turn three, to 11 years old.

Set in a residential area of Henley-on-Thames, it has small classes of around 16 children, which allow the individual to flourish and high academic standards to be achieved in a friendly, caring, enthusiastic and stimulating environment.

Teachers are able to monitor individual progress thus ensuring success and the development of self-esteem.

There is an exciting and broad curriculum where games, art, drama and music are seen as being as important as English, maths, science and French.

With our well qualified specialist teachers, the children are taught by staff who are interested and excited by their subject, consequently generating enthusiasm amongst their pupils.

The children are encouraged to think for themselves, develop independence and self discipline, and a love of learning that will remain with them for life.

To book a personal tour of the school, please contact the school office on (01491) 573118, email info@stmarys-henley.co.uk or visit the website at www.stmarys-henley.co.uk
