THE Remenham Angling Society’s medal winners’ final was held on Campbell’s Lake at Milton Pools with nine qualifiers from last season taking part.
Pete Bowles took top honours on the day with an impressive 170lb 10oz consisting of mainly carp caught short on the pole on meat and down the edge.
Runner-up was Geoff Edwards with 164lb 8oz of carp landed on the pole shallow with caster and on the inside with pellet and in third place was Steve Johnson with 146lb of carp caught on the pole short with meat.
Last Sunday it was back to the Summer Series with a trip to New Farm near Maidenhead for the fifth leg of the competition.
Winner on this occasion was Paul Howard whose mixed net of small carp, skimmers, small barbel, tench and roach caught on the pole across to the island with worm and down the edge with meat totalled 61lb 4oz edging Steve Johnson into second place with a similar catch of 52lb 1oz caught on the pole with pellet across and meat on the inside. In third place was Trevor Pearce with a mixed catch of 48lb caught on the pole at 11 metres with red maggot.
