NEW Barlow Lake at Tadley was the venue for the seventh leg of the Remenham Angling Society’s summer series.
Graham Dodd fished the pole across to the island with worm and meat landing a selection of carp, skimmers, tench and barbel for a winning total of 55lb 1oz. In second place was Paul Howard whose similar net weighed 51lb 3oz caught on the method feeder with pellet and on the pole at five metres with meat and in third place was Trevor Pearce with 44lb 8oz also consisting of carp, skimmers, barbel and tench all caught on the pole with worm. Section winners were Ian Chaplin with 26lb 12oz and Mark Garnet with 36lb 14oz.
Last Sunday it was Cheriton Farm at Farley Hill that was the venue for the eighth leg of the series.
Once again it was Dodd who took maximum points with a winning total of 153lb 4oz consisting of carp landed on the pole across to the small island and also on the inside with red maggot and meat.
In second place was Steve Johnson with 133lb 8oz of carp caught on the pole at eight metres with pellet and on the inside with meat and in third place was Pete Bowles with 120lb 12oz of carp caught at five metres on the pole and down the edge with meat. Section winners were Dick Shillitto with 98lb 8oz and Ian Chaplin with 98lb 12oz.
Bowles leads the points table after eight matches with 140 points followed by Graham Dodd with 124 and Dick Shillitto with 121 making up the top three.
