Bowles secures series honours

PETE BOWLES won the final match in the Remenham Summer Series to secure this year’s title.

PETE BOWLES won the final match in the Remenham Summer Series to secure this year’s title.

Fishing on Whitehouse Lake at Tadley, Bowles secured victory with 55lb 2oz consisting of carp, bream and roach caught on the pole at 13 metres with maggot and at six metres with meat as well as on the inside.

In second place was Steve Johnson with 52lb 6oz of carp caught on the pole on the inside with maggot and in third place was Brian Bowles with 34lb of carp and skimmers landed on the method feeder with maggot.

Section winners were Mark Bowerman with 29lb 6oz and Trevor Pearce with 32lb 6oz.

Bowles’s win secured him the series with 166 points with Graham Dodd holding on to second position with 154 points, Trevor Pearce in third with 151, Dick Shillitto fourth with 145 and Steve Johnson with 141 making up the top five.



Last Sunday saw the start of the Chairman’s Trophy fished at Wood Lane Fishery at Iver and once again it was Bowles who took the honours landing carp on a combination of the pellet waggler, the method feeder and on the pole at 13 metres for a total of 63lb.

Dick Shillitto fished similar tactics also landing carp totalling 47lb 8oz to finish in second place and in third was Steve Johnson with 39lb 8oz of carp.
