Bowerman at the double

REMENHAM Angling Society’s winter series continued at Milton Pools for the sixth leg, but with continuous cold weather taking its toll, most of the lake due to be fished had a thick layer of ice on top with only a small portion fishable, so the match was spread across three lakes which all had small areas which could be fished.

Mark Bowerman was a clear winner on the day as he landed skimmers, roach and perch totalling 32lb 14oz as well as three small carp on Lens Lake, all caught at six metres on the pole with maggot for a winning weight of 39lb 14oz.

Second place came from House Lake with Mark Garnet weighing in 11lb 2oz of roach and skimmers landed on the pole with maggot and caster. In third place was Dick Shillitto on Lens Lake with 10lb 4oz of skimmers and roach.

Last Sunday’s match was once again at Milton Pools but with all the anglers on House Lake.

Bowerman took top spot again as he fished the pole at 14 metres with maggot landing skimmers, roach and perch weighing in 16lb 4oz ahead of Pete Bowles in second position with a similar net caught at 13 metres on the pole and also at six metres with maggot. In third place was Steve Johnson with 9lb 12oz of skimmers and roach.
