Early season triumph for Bowles at Milton

REMENHAM Angling Society’s new season got under way with the medal winners final at Milton Pools on Campbell’s Lake.

Pete Bowles fished the pole at eight metres using meat and caught carp steadily to weigh in a match-winning 118lb 2oz.

Just behind in second place on the opposite was Geoff Edwards with 115lb 8oz of carp caught on the pole using pellet and third was Paul Howard with 90lb 8oz of carp.

The following week saw the first match of the summer series held at Cheriton Farm in Farley Hill. Dave Wightman led the way in this match as he caught small carp and the odd skimmer close in on the pole alternating between meat and red maggot weighing in 111lb 4oz.

In the next peg was Geoff Edwards who fished the pole close in and down the edge with pellet catching carp and skimmers to weigh in 84lb to finish second place for the second week running. In third place was Dick Shillitto with 69lb 12oz of carp.
