Chairman takes honours

THE penultimate match in the Remenham Angling Society’s winter series took place at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham on Sunday.

THE penultimate match in the Remenham Angling Society’s winter series took place at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham on Sunday.

Winning his first match this season was club chairman Roger Howard who opted to fish the straight lead with 8mm boilies and landed two double-figure carp plus several smaller to weigh in a total of 50lb 9oz.

In second place was Graham Dodd who fished the open-ended feeder with red maggot to land 18lb of chub plus several carp up to 11lb for a total of 45lb 4oz. In third place was Ade Bowles who fished similar tactics to Dodd from the next peg to record 34lb 8oz of chub and carp.

With just one round remaining Dodd takes over at the top of the league with 177 points followed by John Hobbs with 166 and then Dave Wightman and Dick Shilitto both with 163.
