Shilitto and Wightman lead way

THE eighth and ninth legs of the Remenham Chairman’s Trophy have been held at Milton Pools and Wood Lane Fishery

THE eighth and ninth legs of the Remenham Chairman’s Trophy have been held at Milton Pools and Wood Lane Fishery respectively over the last two weeks.

Dave Wightman led the way at Milton Pools fishing the pole at six metres and across to the adjacent bank with meat to land small carp for a winning total of 126lb 10oz. In a close second place was Dick Shilitto with 120lb 14oz of carp and third Steve Johnson with 113lb 5oz of carp.

Section winners were Ade Bowles with 85lb 10oz and Trevor Pearce with 84lb 9oz.

The following week saw blustery conditions at Wood Lane hamper most of the anglers with their efforts to fish with most methods.

Dick Shilitto managed to fish the pellet waggler into the wind landing small carp steadily for a total weight of 59lb enough to secure victory over Steve Johnson in the next peg with 49lb 10oz of carp fishing the same tactics and in third place was Dave Wightman with 38lb 14oz of carp and skimmers caught on the pole with meat and pellet.

The top five in the series after nine legs are Shilitto 129, Graham Dodd 128, Wightman 117, Roger Howard 104 and Brian Bowles 101.
