Bowles in fine form

REMENHAM Angling Society’s winter series continued with the fourth and fifth legs being held over the last two weekends.

REMENHAM Angling Society’s winter series continued with the fourth and fifth legs being held over the last two weekends.

Wood Lane Fishery at Iver was the venue for a close fourth leg of the series with Island Lake being fished.

Ade Bowles started the match well catching several small carp tight to the island on the pole with corn and added a few more later into the day whilst on the opposite bank Dick Shillitto landed six larger carp, also on the pole with corn, which saw both anglers weigh in 26lb 6oz at the end to share the top spot. Mark Bowerman finished in third place with 24lb 12oz of carp and roach.

Section winners were Steve Johnson with 20lb 2oz and Pete Bowles with 24lb.

The fifth match was much less of a close affair at Bowsaw Lake near Odiham as Pete Bowles dominated with an all-carp catch of 154lb 8oz, all caught on the method feeder with pellet cast tight to the island.

This was well clear of Roger Howard in second with 42lb of carp and chub, all caught on the method feeder with pellet and corn. In third place was Steve Johnson with 36lb of carp and chub, once again caught on the method feeder.
