THE continuing cold weather and strong northerly winds made Remenham Angling Society’strip to Milton Pools to fish Cambells Lake, in the seventh leg of the winter series, a difficult match with nearly half of the anglers failing to catch.

Dick Shillito fished the pole at 14 metres across to the remains of the lily pads and caught several small carp on the pellet to weigh in 24lb 9oz to secure first place.

In second place was Mark Bowerman who also fished the pole at 14 metres but with corn, landing nine small carp for a total of 15lb 10oz.This was just ahead of Pete Bowles in third place with 15lb consisting of five carp caught on the pole close in with maggot.

Section winners were Roger Howard with 3lb 8oz and Ade Bowles with 11lb 4oz.
