REMENHAM Angling Society members were among 32 anglers from around the South East that lined the banks of Bowsaw and Billhook lakes for the Rodney Pook Memorial match, now in its fifth year.
John Beaseley fished the method feeder with pellet from peg two on Bowsaw weighing in 75lb 6oz of carp scoring him three points whilst his partner Trevor Pearce won his section on Billhook with 122lb of carp caught at 11 and five metres on the pole as well as down the edge all with meat, scoring one point giving them a total of four. Also scoring four points were Simon Kiefer and Tommy Hillier but Pearce and Beaseley’s superior weight gave them the victory.
Third place was also decided on weight as Ian Dixon and Mark Garnet pipped Pete Bowles and Stuart Yeomans after both teams recorded five points.
The final results were as follows: 1 John Beaseley and Trevor Pearce, four points (197lb 6oz), 2 Simon Kiefer and Tommy Hillier, four points (166lb 14oz); 3 Ian Dixon and Mark Garnet, five points (168lb 4oz); 4 Pete Bowles and Stuart Yeomans, five points (160lb).
