Johnson‘s huge haul enough to clinch win

STEVE JOHNSON took the honours as Remenham visited Milton Pools to fish the sixth leg of the Summer Series with Campbell‘s Lake.

Johnson caught carp at five metres on the pole with meat before switching to the inside and fishing maggot over groundbait and continued landing more carp up to double figures to weigh in 231lb 14oz for a comfortable victory.

In second place was Pete Bowles with 148lb 12oz of carp mainly caught on the pole at six metres with meat and in third place was Trevor Pearce with 118lb of carp caught on the pole with meat at five metres and down the edge. On Sunday at Billhook Lake near Odiham, Geoff Edwards triumphed in the seventh leg of the series.

Edwards returned to winning ways in this match as he fished the pole with pellet at six metres and corn down the edge catching carp to weigh in a total of 97lb.

In second place was Pete Bowles with 89lb 4oz of carp landed on the method feeder and also on the pole at four metres with meat and on the inside with maggot over groundbait and in third was Steve Johnson with 80lb 8oz of carp.



After seven rounds Pete Bowles leads the points table with 125 from Dick Shillitto in second with 110 and Steve Johnson in third with 104.
