Consistent Bowles in front at Kingwood

THE last two weeks have seen the seventh and eighth rounds of Remenham’s Summer series.

First up at Bowsaw Lake, near Odiham, Dick Shillitto came out on top as he fished the pole with pellet across to the end of the island landing carp up to double figures weighing in 165lb 12oz.

For the third week in a row Pete Bowles finished in second place. Pete Bowles started on the method feeder before switching to the pole at six metres with meat and down the edge with maggot and groundbait landing carp for a total of 129lb. In third place was Mark Garnett with 72lb of carp caught on the pole with pellet and maggot.

Last Sunday the venue for the ninth round was Oakfield Fishery at Kingswood near Aylesbury with Woodpecker Lake being fished. Pete Bowles went one better than his previous three second positions as he won with 123lb 12oz of carp and skimmers mainly caught on the pole at five metres and on the inside with maggot and groundbait.

Second place went to Ade Bowles fishing similar tactics also landing carp and skimmers weighing in 92lb 8oz and third place was shared between Trevor Pearce and Steve Johnson who both recorded 80lb 6oz of carp and skimmers.



After nine rounds Pete Bowles retains his lead in the series with 164 points followed by Dick Shillitto in second with 144, Steve Johnson in third with 122 and Trevor Pearce and Ian Chaplin joint fourth with 118.
