THE last two weeks have seen the sixth and seventh legs of the Remenham Winter Series being held at Milton Pools and Whitehouse Lake respectively.
At Milton it was House Lake that was fished and it produced plenty of bites for the anglers taking part. Winner on the day was Ian Chaplin who fished the method feeder with pellet across to the far bank and landed carp up to double figures totaling 56lb and also adding 18lb 8oz of roach and skimmers for a 74lb 8oz haul.
In second place was Dick Shillitto with 34lb 4oz of skimmers caught on the pole at 13 metres with pellet and third place was shared by Pete Bowles and Steve Johnson both weighing in 25lb.
The following week by contrast bites were hard to come by at Whitehouse with all the anglers struggling to catch fish in any numbers. Chaplin won his second match in a row as he landed two carp and a bream plus a few small fish on the pole across to the island with maggot weighing in 14lb 10oz.
In second place was Trevor Pearce with a mixed net of tench, bream, perch, roach and carp caught on the pole with maggot totalling 12lb 8oz just edging out Mark Bowerman into third with a similar net weighing 12lb.
