A HURDLER from Christmas Common will be representing Great Britain at next month’s Olympic Games

A HURDLER from Christmas Common will be representing Great Britain at next month’s Olympic Games in Rio.

Lawrence Clarke, 26, has been selected for the 110m men’s event alongside fellow hurdler Andy Pozzi in the 80-strong Great Britain athletics squad.

This season Clarke narrowly missed out on a place in the European Championships final by 0.001 of a second. However, Clarke, who trains in Paris, France, had already ran under the 110m hurdles qualifying time of 13.47 seconds at least twice this season.

At the London 2012 Olympics Clarke narrowly missed out on a medal when he finished fourth in the final.
