Sacred Heart take early season lead

THE first of the Chiltern Edge Winter Series of races saw Sacred Heart take an early lead

THE first of the Chiltern Edge Winter Series of races saw Sacred Heart take an early lead in the defence of their title.

After the first round of matches Sacred Heart lead with 49 points with Sonning Common second on 33 and Rupert House third on 32.

The results of the boys’ and girls’ races for Year 1 to 6 runners were as follows:

Year 1: boys — 1 Alfie Blyton, Kidmore End; 2 Freddie Bertioli-Smith, Sacred Heart; 3 Ashar Gray, Nettlebed. Girls — 1 Brigit Ashby, Nettlebed; 2 Isabella May, Trinity; 3 Ruby Ellery, Sonning Common.

Year 2: boys — 1 Joshua Sudbury, Woodcote; 2 Euan Shaller, Blewbury; 3 Arthur Bottomley, Trinity. Girls — 1 Alejandra Thomas, Daneshill; 2 Riona Street, Goring; 3 Pia Walsh, Trinity.



Year 3: boys — 1 Thomas Lane, St Mary’s; 2 Tommy Handley, Sonning Common; 3 Joseph Woolhouse, St Mary’s. Girls — 1 Annabel Buff, Rupert House; 2 Jemimah Ogston, Sonning Common; 3 Matilda Manly, Shiplake.

Year 4: boys — 1 James Hilton, Whitchurch; 2 William Underhay, Whitchurch; 3 Henry Park, Whitchurch. Girls — 1 Isabella Haines-Gray, Headington; 2 Evie Paton, Peppard; 3 Jemima Day, Kidmore End.

Year 5: boys — Nicholas Thomas, Danesfield; 2 Ben Kellard, Danesfield; 3 Luca Thomson, Trinity. Girls — 1 Charlotte Ashby, Nettlebed; 2 Annabel Jonkers, St Helen’s and St Katherine’s; 3 Madeleine Hepworth, Sacred Heart.

Year 6: boys — 1 Thomas Mennie, St Mary’s; 2 Leonardo Gierczyk, Sacred Heart; 3 Tom Le Beau, Moulsford. Girls — 1 Evie Elson, Caversham; 2 Lydia Godfrey, South Stoke; 3 Clemmie Thorpe, Stoke Row.
