Same again as Sacred Heart retain cross country crown

SACRED HEART retained their Chiltern Edge cross country title following the final round of races that took place last week.

The Henley-based school topped the overall table with 142 points in the competition that included 24 races in all. Rupert House were second with 93 points and Sonning Common third on 90.5.

The results from the last race in the series, which has been competed for by 600 runners, were as follows:

Year one: boys — 1 Ashar Gray, Nettlebed; 2 Freddie Bertioli-Smith, Sacred Heart; 3 Oscar Garvin, Nettlebed. Girls — 1 Brigit Ashby, Nettlebed; 2 Ruby Ellery, Sonning Common; 3 Millie Bunston, Blewbury.

Year two: boys — 1 Joshua Sudbury, Woodcote; 2 Arthur Bottomley, Trinity; 3 Jack Norris, Kidmore End. Girls — 1 Alejandra Thomas, Daneshill; 2 Rhiana Street, Goring; 3 Lucy Tomlinson, Woodcote.

Year three: boys — 1 Tommy Lane, St Mary’s; 2 Olly Offwood, Nettlebed; 3 Gabriel Neeson, Whitchurch. Girls — 1 Matilda Manly, Shiplake; 2 Millie LeBeigge, Nettlebed; 3 Annabel Buff, Rupert House.

Year four: boys — 1 William Underhay, Whitchurch; 2 Henry Park, Whitchurch; 3 Seth Payne, Caversham Primary. Girls — 1 Isabella Haines-Gray, Headington; 2 Evie Paton, Peppard; 3 Poppy McGlyne, Whitchurch.

Year five: boys — 1 Nicholas Thomas, Daneshill; 2 William Gordon, Woodcote; 3 Ben Kellard, Daneshill. Girls — 1 Charlotte Ashby, Nettlebed; 2 Lizzie Ryan, Abbey; 3 Madeleine Hepworth, Sacred Heart.

Year six: boys — 1 Thomas Mennie, St Mary’s; 2 Hal Rust-D’Eye, Kidmore End; 3 Kallum McWilliams, Sacred Heart. Girls — 1 Lydia Godfrey, South Stoke; 2 Clemmie Thorpe, Stoke Row; 3 Frances Kimber, Stoke Row.
