Students selected

SEVEN cross country runners from Sonning’s Reading Blue Coat School have been selected to represent Berkshire at the South East inter-counties event at Southampton next month.

The runners were selected following their success at the Berkshire schools cross country championships where 29 Blue Coat pupils competed in challenging conditions at Wellington College.

Highlights for the Blue Coat students were a second place for the year seven team and a third for the year 10s.

Of the seven runners chosen to represent Berkshire Matthew Rainbow came fourth in a strong U19 field, closely followed by Tomoki Trees and Tom Burns. Peter Cook came second in the U17 race while Matthew Rawlings came third in the U15s followed by Max Cooper and Eddie Steveni.
