AN athlete from Medmenham has been selected to represent England at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Twenty-year-old Pippa Woolven has been selected to run in the 3,000-metre steeplechase.
Woolven, who will turn 21 the week before the games start in next month, is currently ranked England’s number one and second in the UK behind Scotland’s Lennie Waite.
Currently in America on a full athletic scholarship at Florida State University, Woolven recorded a personal best time of 9 minutes 54 seconds.
The Commonwealth Games get under way on July 23.
