INJURY forced Lawrence Clarke to miss out on the final of the 110m hurdlers at the European Championships in Zurich on Thursday of last week.
The Christmas Common athlete, who qualified from the semi-finals earlier in the day, had to pull out due to a hamstring injury picked up in the warm-up for the final.
Speaking after the disappointment, Clarke said: “In the warm-up for the final I strained my hamstring slightly and if I ran it would tear so I had to walk away.
“That was a very scrappy final and if I hadn’t had the injuries I had last year I could have been there, but hopefully I can be back for the World Championships next year.”
Russia’s Sergey Shubenkov won the final with Great Britain’s William Sharman third and Frances’s Pascal Martinotlagarde third.
