Plan for new triathlon but not like ill-fated Challenge

A NEW three-day triathlon could be coming to Henley.

Jeremy Laming, who co-founded the Henley Swim, wants to stage a multi-sport weekend called the Henley Highwayman over the August bank holiday weekend next year.

Up to 600 competitors would swim up to 4km in the Thames on day one, cycle about 160km on the second day and run up to 42km on the third day.

They could choose to take part in all three sections or just one or two as well as complete only the distance they wanted.

Mr Laming, a former rower, outlined his plans to town councillors last week.
