Woolven wins gold

PIPPA WOOLVEN was in fine form in the British Universities Cross Country Championships last week end in Gloucestershire.

PIPPA WOOLVEN was in fine form in the British Universities Cross Country Championships last week end in Gloucestershire.

The Medmenham athlete ran an astute tactical race and overtook fellow Birmingham University student and GB athlete, Rebecca Murray with 200 metres to go, to take gold in the event.

The 22-year-old, who represented England in the 3,000m steeplechase in the Glasgow Commonweath Games, is aiming to gain the qualifying time in the coming months for the Rio Olympics this summer.
