ORATORY School student Charlie Maculan took the honours in the shot putt at the Oxfordshire County Championships at Horspath athletics track in Oxford.

Elsewhere at the championships B string long jumper Ollie Monye finished third in the junior event with some fine jumping achieving a personal best of more than five metres.

Masa Moriyama finished seventh in the junior 100 metres despite being in the year below most of the competition while Jack Mather achieved a personal best in the javelin finally hitting 40 metres.

However, there was disappointment for Harry Davies who pulled a hamstring in his endeavour to dominate both the 100m and 200m at the U17 intermediate level.
