Oxfordshire ladies ease past Thame to secure place in final

HENLEY LADIES ran out 58-42 winners away to WATLINGTON on Tuesday of last week.

Janet Thompson with Di Woodford and Dilys Smith allowed the hosts four winning ends before getting started but then got going with a five on the fifth end.

From then on the Watlington triple lost their grip and scored eight further shots while Thompson’s triple went on to notch up 26 shots finishing 26-12 winners.

Leading for Henley Angelika Crisa set up the head with Mavis Johnson as number two and skip Gill Robins adding to their scores and staying abreast of their opponents to finish 16-11 winners.

Henley’s Pat Hawes found herself up against Watlington’s Carol Nall skipping and at the ninth end the visitors were 12-5 up. Nall’s team came back with a six to make it a more even game and thereafter stayed ahead to secure a 19-16 win.
