SHIPLAKE pulled off an impressive 94-53 victory away to BANBURY CENTRAL on Thursday of last week in Division 1 of the Oxford and District League.
The villagers, who have now won three matches in a row, picked up five points to the hosts’ one.
Barrie Evans’ rink got off to a bad start for the visitors on a difficult rink and soon trailed by six shots, but their fight back to trail by two was not enough as the home side held on to win by five.
Jim Bland’s four started brightly and led the Banbury team from the outset, and went on win comfortably by 15. Barry Lambourne’s rink were never in trouble, completely dominating the home rink, running out easy winners by 13.
Trevor Beaumont’s rink posted a remarkable 12 shots on the board without reply before the Central four made any impression, but the Shiplake team ran away to win by 18 shots.
