SHIPLAKE won their last competitive game of the season last Saturday as they triumphed by 101 shots to 74 away to CAVERSHAM in the Plomer Cup.
David Bullock led from the start and although dropping a four on the seventh came home by nine. Jim Bland was behind in the early ends, but was level at the 17th and then picked up a five, two singles and a four to win by 11. The highest winner for Shiplake was David Webb (+12) who scored consistently, allowing his opponent to score only ones and twos.
In a ding-dong match Trevor Beaumont scored a two on the last end to level the score, ending up 18 apiece. Barrie Evans struggled from the off and found himself 11 down at the half-way stage before finishing 15 down.
Shiplake picked up nine league points to the hosts’ three.

WARGRAVE lost out by 91 shots to 69 away to BRACKNELL on Wednesday of last week. The visitors’ winning rink was made up of Marcy Coster, Peter Campbell and Mike Pope.
On Sunday WARGRAVE went down to a 96-84 defeat at home to FLACKWELL HEATH. The hosts’ winning rink was made up of Doreen Blake, Peter Campbell and Marian Pope.
