ONE year on since the launch of Babes In The Wood, the hugely successful parent/carer and baby/toddler sessions run by Highmoor Nursery School are still going strong and an additional session has been added on Friday morning from 9.30am until 11am.

Originally the group was run on Mondays at 10am and Thursdays at 1pm, but as a result of its popularity the Friday group is now operating. Additional sessions are also currently being considered.

Babes In The Wood is located at Stoke Row pavilion, off Newlands Lane, Stoke Row. It is run by staff from Highmoor Nursery School who are all checked by the DBS (formerly known as CRB). The sessions usually run term-time only but some are available over the Easter and summer breaks.

There is lots on offer including soft play, crafts, stories and a huge number of toys, which are all changed regularly. Coffee and tea is available for parents and carers as well as drinks and snacks for the children. Quotes from attendees include: “This is the nicest group we have ever been to” and: “All the toys are so lovely and the staff are very friendly”.

This group runs alongside the existing nursery school, which operates from Highmoor Memorial Hall and has been offering nursery and pre-school education for nearly 20 years. It takes children from age two upwards for a variety of sessions, some fully government-funded.

Babes In The Wood costs £3.50 per session and no regular commitment is required. Call Highmoor Nursery on (01491) 642162 or Gwen Pragnell on (01491) 681837 or visit www.highmoor nursery.co.uk for information and directions.
