THE winner of this year’s The Local Picture photography competition has been announced.

Find your freedom by Wendy Rumble is an action shot of a jogger with her baby at the Look Out in Bracknell.

Local estate agency Romans, which runs the competition, said it was not disappointed with turnout as it had 171 entries.

Antony Gibson, Romans sales director and the competition judge, said: “After the success of the Local Picture launch last year we were crossing our fingers that it wasn’t a one-hit wonder and the local community would still be just as passionate about showcasing their home towns.

“The fellow judges and I had to make some very tough decisions to in order to pick the top three — we were extremely ruthless but in the end we were very happy with the winners we chose.”

The winner of the public vote was Alice McCarthy with Looking for an adventure in Chazey Wood — a stunning photograph of three children walking through a bluebell woodland near Reading.

“The winning photos are all very different yet they all highlight the beauty of the local area,” adds Antony. “We are really lucky to live in such a stunning area of the UK, with a great mixture of urban districts and rural woodland, as demonstrated by our competition winners.”

The winners walk away with House of Fraser vouchers and donations to a local charity of their choice.
