HENLEY has seen a huge spike in demand with holidaymakers this year, according to new data from holidaylettings.co.uk (part of TripAdvisor).
The research showed the 10 destinations within an hour of London that have seen the most significant rise in demand in 2016 — with Henley seeing almost 30 per cent more enquiries.
Jack Johnson from holidaylettings.co.uk said: “These new stats prove that Henley is increasingly in demand with travellers in and around London. It’s great to see some new tourism hotspots like this one emerge in recent years, alongside old favourites like Whitstable.”
Henley’s big draws, apart from its distance to London and Heathrow Airport, include picturesque stretches of the River Thames and all the leisure that accompanies that, beautiful historical buildings, and boutique shops, cafés and restaurants in the town as well as fantastic countryside with great walking and gourmet pubs in the surrounding villages.
Plus there are big events such as the Henley Royal Regatta, the Henley Masters Regatta, the Henley Festival and Henley Literary Festival.
We’re not ones to sound our own horns (much) Jack, but that’s one of the reasons we live here!
