Henley lad Jason takes charge

DAVIS TATE’S Bell Street office has a new branch manager in the form of Jason Applebey.

DAVIS TATE’S Bell Street office has a new branch manager in the form of Jason Applebey.

Formerly the valuation manager, Henley boy Jason joined the firm 10 years ago, first working at its Pangbourne office, before ending up in Henley where he has been repeatedly promoted during his seven years at Bell Street.

Davis Tate’s joint managing director David Tate is also based at the Henley branch.

He founded Davis Tate with Matthew Davis in 1991 and is responsible for sales, marketing, and the growth of the company to its present position.

David has been selling houses in the area for more than 36 years and is actively involved in “new homes sites” — selling more than 20 new home sites in Henley alone over the past 20 years. (The most current are Farnehust in Peppard Lane for Millgate and the imminent launch of the residential sector at Townlands Hospital.)

David said of his new branch manager: “Jason has an excellent network and has helped hundreds of people sell and purchase in the town.

“Promoting him to branch manager was an obvious move. He comes highly recommended by many clients who return to use Jason and Davis Tate time and time again.

“We are looking forward to him and his team going from strength to strength.”

Standard Property herself was witness to Jason’s magic touch when he personally oversaw the purchase of her own Henley house back in 2010.

“I still remember selling that house to you!” said Jason. “I hope you thought I did a good job!” Indeed he did, dear readers. Indeed he did.

Jason continues: “Now in my new role as branch manager, I’m very excited to take the helm of the Henley office, continuing to give quality personal service to our clients and offering trusted advice.

“It’s especially exciting to me to be in charge of the Henley office as, looking at stats on Rightmove.co.uk, we can see that it’s this branch that sells the most properties in the area.”

A bold statement. However, Davis Tate has the data to back this up.

Jason continues: “We like to check our market share on Rightmove and this certainly makes very interesting reading. For instance, if we look back to the beginning of this year, from January 1 to today’s date, we have sold a total of 53 properties out of the Henley office and Country & Riverside division — also based at Bell Street — combined.

“The second highest agency has only sold 31. So it shows we definitely have the market share. These are figures we are very proud of.”

Jason says he’s also proud to work with an “outstanding” bunch of colleagues. “Like the majority of the team, I’m a local who grew up in Henley and went to school here, so I know the area really well. On the lettings side, Jenny has been here eight years and is as local as they come.”

Jenny, aka lettings manager Jennifer King, grew up in Maidensgrove and has lived in the area all her life, beginning a career in lettings and property management back in 2009.

She’s helped on the lettings side by property manager Tracie Douglas-Jones, who has 20 years’ experience, as well as administrator/sale progressor Fay Rutherford and negotiator Becky Mason, who has had the experience of working in a couple of the company’s offices.

New to the team is recruit Margaret Connerty, who has worked in the high-end residential sales market for more than 14 years and has joined the team as senior sales negotiator.

Jason said: “Whilst being very proactive, her track record is second to none and she is personable yet highly focused and professional.”

Meanwhile, Vanessa Townsend heads up the firm’s prestigious Country & Riverside department, specialising in the larger country houses and properties on the river.

Having previously worked for international estate agencies, she has lived in the area for more than 20 years and is well known for having an approachable and friendly manner.

Of financial consultant Richard Cluderay, who has more than 23 years’ experience, Jason says: “As a broker he prefers being able to find Davis Tate clients the perfect mortgage rather than confining them to the limits of their own bank.”

It all sounds pretty good, Standard Property thinks you’ll agree.

Jason adds: “The entire team are actively involved in all aspects of the office, so whether you have a property to sell, buy, let or rent, they’d all love to help.”
