Sandwich shop stays

A SANDWICH shop looks set to stay in Henley after plans to convert it into housing

A SANDWICH shop looks set to stay in Henley after plans to convert it into housing were withdrawn.

Parminder Kaur, who has owned the freehold at Bell Street Baguettes since 2006, would not reveal why she had changed her mind about the proposed change of use.

However, she has previously said the premises are too small and trade is suffering because footfall on the edge of the town centre has declined.

She said she had no plans to relocate but may do if a larger, more central unit became available and she would then fund the move by selling the existing shop.

Permission to convert Henley Hair and Beauty, also in Bell Street, into a flat was granted in January.
