THE Chilterns and South Oxfordshire rate as two of the best places to raise a family, according to the Daily Telegraph, using the Halifax Children’s Quality of Life Survey.
Evaluating regions across the country on factors such as employment, house size, broadband, traffic and adults’ reports of wellbeing, the survey saw a strong showing from Scotland — but appearances from areas in both the north and south of England too.
In first place was the Orkney Islands in Scotland, with Harrogate in Yorkshire 15th. South Oxfordshire was in fifth place and the Chilterns in ninth.
The report said that homes in the Chilterns have the highest average number of rooms per house of 6.4 against the average for Great Britain of 5.4 rooms.
