AN optometrist celebrated her 25th year at a Henley opticians with a party.

Catalina Borneo joined Frost Borneo in Hart Street in 1991 after qualifying. She became a partner in the business in 1996.

Miss Borneo, who lives in Charvil with her husband and three children,  said: “I can’t quite believe it has gone so fast.

“It’s amazing how things have changed. When I started we didn’t even have computers and now there’s so much we can do for people. It’s a very exciting industry to be in.

“I think Henley is lovely, it’s a beautiful town, and the business is in a great location because it’s so near to everything else.” Miss Borneo invited friends and patients to the party at the premises. She served champagne and snacks and had a cake in the shape of the number “25”. Balloons were put up outside the shop to mark the occasion.

She said: “It was very nice. Throughout the day we probably had about 50 people come in and I had lots of chats.

“I’m looking forward to working here for many more years. I have three children so I might be working forever!

“I’ve always enjoyed it. Being an optometrist was what I always wanted to do.”

Partner Neil Frost celebrated his 25 years in the business in August 2008.
