Savills blogs ask what makes a house a home

A NEW series of blogs called Moving Stories can now be found on the Savills website

A NEW series of blogs called Moving Stories can now be found on the Savills website at savills.co.uk/blog.

Each week, Professor Sir Cary Cooper CBE — the author of more than 150 books on occupational psychology, stress and wellbeing — looks at the varying factors that give us an emotional attachment to our properties.

Why are our childhood homes such an influence on us? How can we help children to cope with a family move? How can we deal with the stress involved in a change of address?

Moving Stories will also feature funny, sad and bittersweet personal reflections on moving out, moving in and moving on.

Local girl Julia Cooke, an associate director at Savills’ Henley branch, said: “We would love to have you submit your own ‘moving stories’ for us to publish on our blog. For every story we use, Savills will donate £50 to Dreams Come True — the children’s charity that enriches the lives of young people with serious or life-limiting conditions.”

Even unpublished stories are worth sending in via www.savills.co.uk/blog/author/ 207693/Moving%20Stories, as Julia adds: “We will make a donation for every story submitted.”
