'Love Local' at Christmas shopping evening

A SHOPPING evening promoting small retailers and artisans will be held in Henley next month.

A SHOPPING evening promoting small retailers and artisans will be held in Henley next month.

It has been organised by Love Local, which aims to give a platform to businesses that don’t have a presence on the high street or anywhere to display their work.

The event will be held in the newly refurbished clubhouse at Henley Rugby Club on Wednesday, November 30 from 6pm to 11pm.

Stallholders will be offering upcycled vintage-style furniture, cushions, artwork, home accessories, photography, ceramics, candles, jewellery, cakes, chocolates, Christmas cards and stocking fillers.

Lynne Lambourne, who founded Love Local with Sarah Kirk in 2011 and lives in Peppard, said: “We thought it would be nice to combine a get-together with friends in the evening and the ability to make a dent in your Christmas shopping at the same time.

“Our markets offer a fabulous shopping experience to local people wanting to buy something that cannot be found on the high street.”

The women have been helped by Tracey Beard, from Kidmore End.
