Measure of pleasure

AN organic food manufacturer from Rotherfield Greys has created a “baby thrill-o-meter”.

Ella’s Kitchen designed the machine to measure the pleasure experienced by babies when trying new foods. The device measures their galvanic skin responses to different foods and this is combined with their facial expressions and body language observed by parents to determine how positive the response was.Mango and cinnamon were shown to be the most exciting tastes followed by lemon.

Paul Lindley, who founded the award-winning business, said: “To see little ones’ faces light up when they try a food that really excites them is fantastic and we create all of our foods with babies’ tastebuds in mind.”
