ACCORDING to the latest information from property investor and lettings expert, Savills, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of lettings properties being offered “off market”.
The lettings teams within the Home Counties offices of the firm have seen an increasing number of landlords asking if it is possible for their property to be marketed without formally being launched to the market.
This highlights the importance for applicants and relocation agents to speak directly to agents rather than relying on the internet for a full portfolio of available property.
Richard Maby, head of Savills Henley lettings, comments: “Many landlords, often those who are ‘accidental’, may be willing to let their property out but only under very specific criteria surrounding their own circumstances, which may not suit the majority of applicants.
“A good example of this may be someone who, in an ideal world, would like to sell but would be prepared to let out their home but perhaps only for a long-term corporate tenancy.
