Roadshow pulls in Londoners looking to move to country

RESIDENTIAL estate agent Hamptons International, which has a branch in Hart Street, Henley, this week announced the return of its country roadshow which will take place on Saturday, March 22 between 10am and 2pm in Chiswick, Richmond, Battersea and Muswell Hill.

Launched last year, the country roadshow provides those living in the capital with a first look at a selection of beautiful country homes available to buy and rent in prime areas of the countryside.

The hosting London branches will have property experts from various country and commuter belt locations on hand to offer a comprehensive view of the area as well as providing information on important questions such as top performing schools, commuter times and property values.

Last year, four out of 10 Londoners moved out of the capital, with nearly half of these taking up residence in the South East and South West. A key indicator that migration out of London is driven by lifestyle factors such as having children or requiring more space for a growing family is that the average age of those moving out of the capital is 32. Furthermore, the 30 to 40 age group makes up a total of 27 per cent of all moves out of London.

Marc Goldberg, head of sales at Hamptons International said: “We’re delighted to bring the country roadshow back to London following its raging success last year. It is a fantastic one-stop-shop event for Londoners to get a flavour for sales and rental properties available in the country without having to sacrifice too much time.
