Four more traders closing down

TWO car businesses in Henley have closed their premises after 18 months.

Henley Car Hire and Premier Cars of Henley were based in the same office in Reading Road.

The companies, which bought, sold and hired second-hand cars, moved into the former Ten20 art gallery in August 2012. They had previously spent 18 months at Coxon House in Newtown Road.

Owner Peter Davies, of Gravett Close, Henley, said the move to the town centre had gone well at first but trade had been affected by the growth in new car sales.

He said: “Sales weren’t bad but last year it was difficult due to the number of new cars on the market going up by 15 per cent. The main reason for having the shop was to advertise cars and we may look for other premises in the future.”
