Marlow coffee shop to open Henley branch

ANOTHER coffee shop is to open in Henley next month.

Café Copia is to take over the former Bloc Brazilian 2 premises in Market Place, which closed in May after 11 years.

The café chain, which already has a branch in Marlow, made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.

Managing director Philip Grobien said: “We have come to Henley because we like to stick to market towns and we are just up the road in Marlow where people know us and like us.

“We looked at the shop about a year ago but at that time it was being offered to other people but that all fell through so we stepped in. It is a brilliant site in the centre of town, which is a fantastic place to be.”

Café Copia is the eleventh coffee shop to open in Henley but Mr Grobien said he was not concerned about competition.

He said: “Our business is growing year on year by 25 per cent in our Marlow café and the last time I checked there are 16 coffee shops there.

“I think we offer a great service and we are a friendly and efficient organisation. We are not exactly the most expensive and we offer good food.”

The coffee shop will employ up to 10 full- and part-time staff, including a manager and supervisor. It is due to open in mid-April.
