Makeover for cycle shopfront thanks to council grant

A SHOPKEEPER in Henley has called on residents to help keep the town’s independent businesses alive.

Alan Mann, 37, posted a notice in the window of Henley Sports in Greys Road to thank his customers and urge them not to be tempted by larger chains elsewhere.

He has owned the business for eight years and worked at the shop for 18.

The notice said: “To all of my valued customers, both old and new. It is only because of your continued support of this shop that I can keep trading and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“To those who overlook me, it is always easy to think that a bigger store can offer you more than a little one.
